Board Membership Requirements
➤ Agent Membership Timeline
• Once an agent joins your office, they have 30 days to apply for membership with NCBOR or another local REALTOR® association. Dues are prorated monthly.
• If the agent does not wish to join, the broker is responsible for paying their annual dues in full (no proration).
• If an agent puts their license in inactive status or transfer to a new brokerage, the board must be notified. It is the responsibility of the broker to ensure compliance of their roster with the board.
➤ How Agents Apply
• Online Application: ncbor.net/join
• Invoice is sent within 1-2 business days of submission.
• After payment:
– Agent receives a Welcome Letter and their NRDS # (NAR ID used to access forms).
– GAR Forms are turned on.
– Supra eKeys can be issued by phone.
➤ New Member Requirements (Within First 6 Months)
• Code of Ethics Training (offered 4 times per year)
• New Member Orientation (offered 4–6 times per year)
➤ Ongoing Membership Requirements
• Annual Dues: $516 due January 1st each year. (GAR will be increasing dues by $25 in 2026.)
• Every 3-Year Cycle (Now in Cycle 8: Jan 1, 2025 – Dec 31, 2027):
– 2.5 CE Hours – Code of Ethics
– 2 CE Hours – Fair Housing (New Requirement)
• Agents must send proof of course completion to the Board with either a certificate or screenshot of GREC education records. (We do not have access to GREC records and cannot verify completion without documentation.)
